I always design databases to third normal form unless there's a compelling reason to do otherwise. I always develop an appropriate object model.

But if your project lacks these and just needs help in a particular area, I've done more work than I'd like to say in those less-than-ideal situations! In those cases, the craftsmanship of the software developer is even more critical, not less.

I recently said this to a potential customer who opted to go with someone else since I wasn't equiped to work on his Mac project: "Some guys will do it faster. Some guys will do it more cheaply.
